
Marie has consistently sought advanced, specialized training to deepen her knowledge of the legal, social, and psychological aspects of human trafficking.
• Marie is a STAND Fellow with World Without Exploitation, a movement dedicated to ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation. This program focuses on empowering survivors to lead trauma-informed change, aligning with her personal mission.
• St. Thomas University Colleg of Law, John J. Brunetti Human Trafficking Academy: Completed 30 Hours of Doctrinal & Skills Training in "The Survivor's Academy - Exploring the Pathways on the Journey from Victim to Thriver." (Completed July 2025)
• 22nd Annual International Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference: Certificate of Attendance, demonstrating commitment to staying current with the latest research and social justice initiatives in the field. (Attended September 2025)
• Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) Training Program: Completed training through the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, State of Florida (serving the Counties of Charlotte, Collier, Hendry, Glades and Lee) to advocate for the best interests of children in the court system. (Granted November 2009)
